Medullated Fibre

Medullated Fibre

These are wool fibres with a hollow or partially hollow core. They often come from crossbred sheep or hairy breeds, and don’t absorb dye properly — which means they can show up as pale or off-colour streaks in finished garments. Too many medullated fibres can reduce the value of a clip, especially if it’s destined for high-end clothing.
